Derek came to the University of Edinburgh in 2006 and brought his experience and passion to the women's club. For 2007-2008 he was awarded University of Edinburgh's "Coach of the Year" award from over 100 coaches. He also currently coaches the women's Scottish Universities Celtic's team as well as the Warrender Baths Club Junior Team and in the past has coached multiple squads at the national level. As a player he has had an illustrious career playing in and for Scotland over the decades including being named "Scottish Player of the Year". He continues to play for Warrender and still possesses shots so quick that the Uni players shake their heads in amazement. Derek spends much of his free time with Family and their horses. |
